How to hold an epic Christmas Party in Sydney this year!
Book a rooftop bar!
The roadmap to freedom announced on 9th September states that hospitality venues will be subject to the one person per four square metres and seated dining, EXCEPT outdoor areas will be two square metres per person and standing while drinking will be allowed! Masks will also not be mandatory outside. So now is the perfect time to book out that secret rooftop bar (or outside space) and enjoy sunset drinks, views and all the standing you want!
Create a fun and relevant theme
In 2020, just after the lockdown ended, we held a ‘prohibition’ themed event and created a pop up speakeasy in an underground tunnel for one of our clients. We also held an ‘Around the World’ themed boat party where guests had to dress up inspired by the destination they were meant to travel to in 2020 (or wished to travel to). Embrace the restrictions and the ‘era’ we’re in - it’s certainly one for the record books that we’ll be talking about for years.
Book NOW
Word on the street is, restaurants are already booking up for November and December so you can bet the second we have an actual ‘freedom date’, everything will get booked out. If you’re willing to take the risk and pay a deposit now, you’ll have much more bargaining power and likely get an awesome deal with a venue that has no events on the calendar and is keen for the business. (Just make sure to read over the terms and conditions and ensure you’re comfortable with the cancellation policy.)
Don’t forget the details
Securing a rooftop bar is one thing, but don’t forget to add lots of fun activities, entertainment, theming and buzz to enhance the event! There are so many awesome suppliers ready and willing to make your event epic!
Manage expectations
I know it sounds a little lame but make sure you’re managing expectations around the event experience (especially if guests are paying to attend). There will likely still be some restrictions hanging around, we could easily go back into a lockdown and people will likely need to be vaccinated to attend. Communicate with attendees often in the lead up to the event and on arrival to remind them of any regulations they need to abide by. People will just be so excited to be out at an event, if you manage their expectations, they’ll have the BEST time!
If you’re overwhelmed, check out our ‘ready to buy’ rooftop experience or get in touch and we can help plan an epic event for you!
